Art Department Programs
MAJORS AND MINORS
There are four majors offered by the Concordia Art Department. Our broad program offerings connect students to specific careers such as design or education, or to areas of thought and exploration that are open-ended. Some students in our programs land internships or continue on to graduate school and all of them make connections to people in the arts community that can shape an unexpected and fulfilling future. Personalized majors that meet your interest can also be created in consultation with professors.
Majors include Art Studio, Art Education, Community Arts, and Design
Minors include Art Studio, Art History, Botanical Illustration Certificate, Community Arts and Digital Design
COURSES
CURRENT AND NEW FACILITIES
The Art Department recently began its move into a new home. The main exhibition galleries and support spaces are already established in one of two buildings being converted for Art Department use. Our current studio classrooms are spread all across the campus and vary in size and function. When established, the new studio spaces will support the growth and quality of our programs well into the future.
For students enrolled in our courses there is round the clock access to the studios. If you just have to paint at 4:00 am, as often happens around critique time, Security happily lets registered students into the spaces and make sure they’re secure to work.
